Can Maths Be Fun?

The journey through the presentations takes the young mathematicians to the world of puzzling. The mixture of activities brings about predictability. Surprise, wonderment and the feeling of self-satisfaction.

Profile 

Doug’s presentations give participants the opportunity to solve various puzzles working in pairs or small groups. It gives them the chance to collaborate and also allows them to stretch their mathematical skills. 

Doug travels around the United Kingdom hosting maths challenges which attract, on average, 35 schools and also runs puzzling workshops. His aim is to make maths teaching and learning meaningful and appealing by keeping away from the textbook and presenting the subject through problem solving. 

He also compiled nine booklets of puzzles which are readily available on his website for free.
