Maths Magic from Spain at the Cervantes Institute

Fernando Blasco and the Catalonian Maths Museum will present a morning of Maths in Spanish for TY and senior cycle students studying Spanish. Fernando is one of Spain's best known mathematics promoters. He collaborates with TV shows and radio programs in Spain and performs in Civic Centres, Science Museums, University Classrooms and other stages. In his presentations he uses magic to introduce mathematical topics. Maths Museum of Catalonia (MMACA) is located in the upper floors of a mansion in a park in a suburb of Barcelona. It is run by retired maths teacher Guido Ramellini and a team of volunteers. The museum has a permanent exhibition of “Mathematical Experiences” and do guided tours and workshops for school groups. They are well known around Spain and across Europe for their outreach events particularly outdoor maths with Leonardo Domes, Mobius bands, magic and more… http://www.mmaca.cat
