Minister Sherlock Presents John Hooper Medal
Sean Sherlock TD, Minister for Research and Innovation at the Department of Innovation and Skills will present the John Hooper medal to the winner of the CSO's Statistics for Schools Poster Competition.

Loss of an old friend of Maths Week
We have learned of the death of Mr Peter Tiernan (26/9/11). Peter was a dedicated maths teacher and inspired generations of pupils. Peter was loved and respected by his colleagues and played a key role in the IMTA. He was committed to the promotion of maths and was a great supporter on Maths Week Ireland. He will be dearly missed among the maths community in Ireland.
Maths Week Ireland 2011 plans underway
We have really big ambitions for Maths Week 2011. Last year, Maths Week 2010 broke all the records when over 100,000 people participated.
