Have you heard about The Marshmallow Challenge?

For MATHS WEEK 2020 our principal, Mrs. Costello has asked  us once again to do the Marshmallow Challenge.

With 20 sticks of dry spaghetti, one metre of masking tape, one metre of string and a marshmallow, the students from 3rd Class to 6th are asked to see what was the tallest free standing structure they could build.

This is the third year of what has become an Annual Challenge during Maths Week. Each year our marshmallow towers are bigger and better because we learn year on year.

So this is what we learned last year. The secret of success is a wide, solid base. Do this and you will build bigger and better free standing structures.

Ms. Donnelly’s 5th Class were the winners in 2019. The highest structure measured 56cm. Can you beat this?
