Now it’s your turn!
Use your creativity to combine found materials and try to make sounds.

You can use kitchen paper tubes, small boxes, you can also build your own tubes by wrapping some paper sheets.
Then try to make a sound using rubber bands as strings or a bit of rice if you can close your box.

You can then customize your instruments with colours and ribbons.
You can create Maracas, Guitars, Drums…

To produce different sounds, you can change the place of your rubber bands or their tension (how much they are stretched).
You can change the length of the tubes, the shape of holes, and the size of boxes.
You can also use your cup and a spoon. If you gently hit the cup with your spoon you can hear a sound. You can change the note by filling the cup with water or tea! A different amount of liquid allows you to generate different sounds.

You can also try to understand the musical notes and give them an order from low-pitched sound to high-pitched sound…to create a scale.
Please, share your orchestra on twitter with us, use the tag #adventSTEAM
We are looking forward to hearing your orchestra!
