2020 marked the inaugural year of International Day of Mathematics! (IDM). On the 14th of March, also known as Pi Day, (as March 14th is written as 3.14 in some countries) people from all over the world were due to celebrate the wonders of maths. Unfortunately the celebrations were overshadowed by the Covid-19 crisis. We had encouraged schools across Ireland to mark it in-school on Friday 13th. Schools in the Republic of Ireland closed on that day. Many people engaged with us on-line and we hope that next year it will be a success.
