Description

Be a cartoonist for a day! Prepare a notebook and a pencil or a pen and start sketch your character. Thanks to optical illusions you could see your drawing start moving.

Pick two blank pages of your notebook. Choose one corner and draw a simple figure to start.
It can be an elf or a snowflake..

If you look carefully on the following page you could spot a light mark of your shape in the paper.
You can draw it again, exactly as it is in the first page, and add some details.

Then roll your first page using a pencil…now ready for the magic?

Use the pencil to flip the corner of your page over the second one as fast as you can..
You would see your character making moves!

Flip books works exactly as cinema movies. Frame after frame, showed at a define speed makes a video. A frame is a single image/picture. The speed used is so fast that our eyes can’t spot the time and gap between one frame and the other. Professional video cameras can record with very high fps (frame per second) this allow then directors to create effects like stop motion or time lapse.
