These logic puzzles will have the whole family engaged and can be easily recreated using materials from around the house. Or printing out our Reindeer version template.

But you can try this activity with just paper and pen as well.

Instructions

Instructions

Cut out your 6 reindeers following the dotted lines.
Then place them on the ice spots following the instructions.

  • 3 red nose reindeers on one side
  • 3 brown nose reindeers are on the other side
  • An empty ice spot is in the centre

The red-nose reindeers want to be where the brown-nose reindeers are, AND the brown-nose reindeers want to be where the red-nose reindeers are according to the following rules.

Rules
  1. Only one reindeer per ice spot
  2. Reindeers can jump either onto the next ice OR over one reindeer onto the next ice
  3. Reindeers can NOT turn around
  4. These reindeers do NOT like to leave the ice

Logic! Boolean logic is focused on three words: AND, OR, NOT. The rules of six reindeers puzzle uses all three. AND is very precise and says that both groups of reindeers must accomplish the task to solve the puzzle. OR represents the options they have with moves, and NOT; well… it’s very clear isn’t it?
