Design #1: Star
Press the pencil gently enough to make a mark. To be able to erase some parts at the end.
- Built a square ABCD of side 12 cm.
- In the middle of the line segment:
- [AB] is I.
- [BC] is J.
- [CD] is K.
- [AD] is L.
- Draw the line segment [AJ], [AK], [AC], [BL], [BK], [BD], [CI], [CL], [DJ], [DI], [IK] and [JL].
- Erase the redish broken lines.
- Choose 3 colours and let’s paint!

Built a square ABCD of side 10 cm.

Locate:

the point a on the side [AB] such that Aa=1cm.

the point b on the side [BC] such that Bb=1cm.
-
the point c on the side [CD] such that Cc=1cm.
-
the point d on the side [AD] such that Dd=1cm.
-

Join [AB], [BC], [CD] and [AD].
-
Locate:
-
the point e on the side [ab] such that ae=1cm.
-
the point f on the side [bc] such that bf=1cm.
-
the point g on the side [cd] such that cg=1cm.
-
the point h on the side [ad] such that dh=1cm.
-
-
Join [ef], [fg], [gh] and [he].
-
Do the same for the other squares mnpq, EFGH, MNPQ and urst (see other pictures).

Choose a gradation of some colour or just 2 colours and let’s paint!
Have fun! Try to change the gap (1/2 inch; 1 inch; 0,5 cm; 2 cm…). Try to change the direction of the rotation.
