Mathematical Games Tournament

With Cesco Reale

Cesco Reale is a scientific communicator that deals with games, languages and maths.

He will be leading a Mathematical Games Tournament during Maths Week 2026.

Audience: 5th / 6th Primary (10-12 years old), 60 players in each Tournament.

About: Tables will be set up with a different strategy games to be played. People will participate in teams of 3-6 people. Games chosen will be easy to learn.

Each tournament includes a Swiss style tournament that includes 4 rounds, each round 1 hour (20′ + 20′ per player as byoyomi), and teams of 3-6 people.

Tournament Dates:

Thursday 15 October | Cork

Friday 16th October | Dublin (DCU)

The Games:

Games chosen will be easily learned. The type strategy games played will include games from Asia, Africa, America and Europe: Gomoku, Hex, Lines of Action, Breakthrough, Konane, Amazons, Slither, Oware, Chinese Checkers, Halma, Vierka, Domineering, Reversi – Othello, Quoridor, Neutreeko
