Guido Ramellini and Dr Fernando Corbalan from the Museum of Mathematics of Catalonia are coming to UL for Maths Week. They will deliver a workshop for pre-service teachers where they will present several examples of resources that are easy to build and bring into the classroom, coming from different sources, which will be easily accessible to all mathematics teachers.

Rob will explore current and new definitions of dyscalculia and the awareness and prevalence of dyscalculia in the UK. He will also consider its co-occurrence with other conditions as well as maths anxiety. Key indicators of dyscalculia will be explored along with assessment for teaching intervention.

These free workshops with Dr Aisling Twohill of DCU will help you to help your child with maths, building confidence and enjoyment in maths and exploring how relevant maths is to everyday life. Maths is around us everyday, in everything from sports statistics, to money, to the shape of buildings. Note – these workshops are for parents only (not children) and will provide a variety of ways that parents can build their own confidence in maths, and thereby help their children’s confidence in maths
