Katie Steckles is a mathematician based in Manchester, who gives talks and workshops and writes about mathematics.

So many games in cards involve using maths and mental maths without us even knowing we’re doing it! The children will play a few warm up whole class games with probability and place value and then we will learn a few games of patience which involve learning number bonds of 2 digit numbers. Hopefully the children can play these in the classroom and at home.
