Maths Week TV returns with online live events for primary and secondary pupils. The line up will include some of our favourite presenters with some exciting new talent.

The Maths of the Simpsons
Very few people associate The Simpsons with mathematics, but if you look closely at the episodes there is plenty of mathematics to be found. In her presentation, Zoe Griffiths will touch on a number of different higher level areas of mathematics, while illustrating that an understanding of mathematics will be an asset in any career.

Ben is a mathematician, musician, and public speaker. He gives maths talks and workshops around the world, to students, teachers, and the general public. He is a former secondary maths teacher. He now regularly performs live with the Maths Inspiration and MathsFest projects, and works regularly with the Numberphile YouTube channel. He also runs his own YouTube channel, SparksMaths.

Zoe Griffiths is a mathematician who worked as a classroom maths teacher in secondary schools. She now travels around the UK and internationally giving talks at venues ranging from the Cheltenham Science Festival to BBC Radio 4. Zoe has also been featured on the Numberphile YouTube channel.

Steve Sherman is a master in storytelling and the Chief Imagination Officer of Livingmaths.com, based in South Africa. Livingmaths.com runs STEAM-based activities promoting Maths, Science, Engineering, Coding, Space, The Arts and a range of other engaging topics at teacher workshops, physical and online classes.

Katie Steckles is a mathematician based in Manchester, who gives talks and workshops and writes about mathematics. She finished her PhD in 2011, and since then has talked about maths at universities, schools events, festivals, on BBC radio and TV, in books and on the internet.

Chris Budd OBE, is based at the University of Bath, where he is Professor of Applied Mathematics and Director of the Centre of Nonlinear Mechanics. He has a long history of engagement in the public understanding of science and mathematics through institutions such as the Royal Institution and the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications. Professor Budd was awarded an OBE in 2015 for services to science and mathematics education.

Tríona Nic Fhinn is an experienced educator with a background in Primary Mathematics Education. Having worked as a professional development facilitator for primary teachers in Mathematics, Science, and STEM, she now works as an Oifigeach Oideachais (ETIM) le COGG. Her work focuses on promoting engaging STEM education through the medium of Irish, organizing events and supporting teachers with innovative resources.

COGG supports the teaching and learning of Irish in all schools and of subjects through the medium of Irish in Gaeltacht and Gaelscoil schools. Working across both primary and post-primary education, COGG focuses on three main areas: providing high-quality teaching resources, offering support services, and conducting research to inform best practices and improve Irish-medium education.
