PRISM 2019 solutions and methods
What is PRISM?
PRISM is a problem solving programme for second level students, involving an in-class test that is run concurrently in all registered secondary schools under the supervision of teachers. It is open to all post-primary schools across the island of Ireland. PRISM was developed and is run by the Mathematics Department at the National University of Ireland Galway.
Why not run PRISM in your school during Maths Week 2019?
What should students expect?
PRISM will be a multiple-choice paper with challenging questions.
The time allowed is 1 hour.
There will be 15 questions.
Students shouldn’t worry if they don’t get all the questions done as it is designed to be challenging, particularly the last 5 questions.
If students get the last few questions out they might want to find out about the Irish Mathematics Olympiad.
