Webinar for Transition Year (TY) Students
The Society of Actuaries invites all TY students to a webinar that will introduce the Actuarial Profession.
The webinar will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, 13 October at 7pm and is aimed at TY Students who are currently thinking about their CAO applications.
You will get an understanding of the actuarial profession, develop a future-focused mindset and enjoy an engaging and inspiring experience throughout the session.
In the Webinar:
• An introduction to the society by Brian Grimes who will talk about his work and the broad role of actuaries.
• An active learning session with Susan Hayes Culleton where you can think and analyse like an actuary: you will get a chance to review data and consider the factors that actuaries need to think about when making big decisions.
• A panel discussion where we’ll dig into the details of the actuarial profession: you can learn about salary expectations, promotions, the exam process, travel opportunities, and how the environment affects actuarial work.
