The Olympiad includes question papers for all classes primary and secondary. This is the only Olympiad of its kind (in the world) to cater for the foundation phase. This article comes from <a href=\"https:\/\/thirdspacelearning.com\/blog\/best-primary-maths-teaching-practice\/\">Third Space Learning<\/a><\/p><p><br\/><\/p><p>\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Passion in teaching is not a luxury or a frill but essential to all good practice.<\/p><p><br\/><\/p><p>\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 It is daunting to be passionate about everything you teach all ofthe time, but effective primary maths teachers aren\u2019t just content with delivering the curriculum but communicating content and ideas with sparks and gusto. \u00a0 <\/p><p><br\/><\/p><p>\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Little or no passion = little or no learning.<\/p><p><br\/><\/p><p>\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Maths needs to be taught with energy, and so passion is a prerequisite if we are to inspire, motivate and engage children. Passionate maths teachers see pupils as curious and creative individuals who can be encouraged to explore maths with energy and excitement too.<\/p><p><br\/><\/p><p>\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Effective teachers (aka passionate teachers) openly display athirst for knowledge and revel in the opportunity to learn as much as teach.<\/p><p><br\/><\/p><p>\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Effective maths teaching is seen in the eyes, the non-verbal gestures, the voice and the <a href=\"https:\/\/thirdspacelearning.com\/blog\/maths-language-skills\/\">maths language<\/a> they use in class.<\/p><p><br\/><\/p><p>\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Passionate teachers also tune into their pupils and remember that maths is not always easy to grasp so they display empathy, compassion, commitment and patience and set up an atmosphere of trust where mistakes are welcomed not ridiculed. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p><p><br\/><\/p><p><strong>My \u201cMaths Table\u201d<\/strong><\/p><p><br\/><\/p><p>I have written about this topic in the past.
