Mathematical Principles of the Natural World with Gabriel Gallagher
October 16, 2019 @ 09:45 - 11:00
| FreeAudience: TY and senior Cycle Secondary school.
Isaac Newton was arguably the foremost mathematician of his time and one of the greatest scientists of all time. In this presentation, we will explore how he applied mathematics to help explain motion and gravity. These laws, dating from 1687, established the bedrock for our understanding of the physical world. We will also look at the Isaac Newton, the man: he was a complex and, at times, difficult man, often more interested in alchemy, religion and revenge than in maths or physics.
