Mary Ward’s Amazing World of Wonder

Billed as an exciting community art project performance with a visually stunning projection and specially commissioned music, the Mary Ward World of Wonder is a project which uses art and performance to recreate the world and work of early scientist Mary Ward. Based on the Victorian idea of science as entertainment, the team uses dioramas and historical recreations to create workshops on STEM themes such as the Fibonacci Sequence. Mary Ward’s Amazing World has been created by visual artist Caroline Conway and photographer Tina Claffey, using macro-photography and Zoetrope animation to reinterpret the Victorian wonder of discovery and relate it to the contemporary world.
